Ordinary Folks: Jo Jongo
Jo is a mystery to most folks in town. She moved here a year ago and got a job at the library. On Fridays and Saturdays, she sings with the band over at the Pearl Dance Hall. Her voice is wonderful and she’s very popular.
Jo’s past is unclear. She says she’s from New York, but her accent says differently. Her husband is said to have died three years ago, in Chicago. She claims to have grown up poor, but she doesn’t act like it. She says she’s 34, but she could be younger or older by 3-4 years. She can speak fluent French and Spanish, something that library patrons found out when asking about translations of various books.
Jo lives in an apartment in the downtown area. Her apartment is small, but very clean. She has a 2 year old cat named Monique. She reads a lot and often has chinese food at the Heavenly Garden restaurant. She very seldom dates.
In fact, Jo Jongo is a fake name. She is in the witness protection program, moved here from Southern California. Despite the WPP assurances that she is safe here, she has 3 loaded pistols in her apartment.
