A Few New Monsters: Treasure Monkeys

Treasure monkeys are not, per se, monsters. They are just naturally occurring animals they really like shiny objects or anything interesting looking. About the size of raccoons, they live in very large family groups of up to 60 individuals. Mostly found in subtropical climates, they are mostly vegetarians, but will eat insects, reptiles and small rodents.

These monkeys have prehensile tails and can travel quite quickly through the treetops. They seem to be very smart and often work together to get things done. Fur color is medium brown for females and medium gray for males. All treasure monkey troops are matriarchal.

Although they live up in the trees, their treasure hordes are kept in a large pile on the ground. They guard it from any thieves, mostly other treasure monkey troops. Adventurers attempting to steal from a troop with find themselves facing fangs, claws, urine & feces. Attempting to fight them with ordinary weapons is frustrating, because they are very fast moving and quite tough. Magic works best.
