…but not for long
The Long & Winding Road
Part 34
Land Of The Ash Giants
This 75 mile long part of The Road is more or less straight. It begins at the top of a 400 foot tall ancient lava dome. The road is still the same lava rock. There is great danger ahead, because this is where the Ash Giants live.
These primitive and rather dull witted giants stand 15 feet tall and wear no clothing. They cover their bodies with ash powder and carry large rocks for weapons. Food here is scare, so they are always hungry. Cannibalism of fallen foes is common. Males outnumber females, which leads to more fighting.
The best bet for travelers is to travel at night, when the giants sleep, and try to hide during the day. They should not cook any food, lest the giants keen sense of smell pick it up.
