Big Mistakes: Trusting Becky With The Diamonds
Denny, Burt, and Joey were small time thieves in a very large West Coast city. One night, while burglarizing an older home in an older suburb, they found a small pickle jar full of uncut diamonds. Denny, by far the smartest of the bunch, estimated the worth at somewhere north of $500,000.00. Sadly, about 2 minutes into their victory dance, the cops arrived and they all had to split fast. Since Joey was the fastest runner, they gave him the jar of diamonds and told him to hide them somewhere safe.
Four days later, after they had all laid low due to having been ratted out by Burt’s ex-girlfriend, the three men met up at a local park. It was then that Joey told them that he had handed off the diamonds to Becky, Denny’s estranged wife. He had done this because the cops were hot on his trail and Becky said she’d keep them safe.
Amazingly, Becky left town the next morning and was never heard from again. The three thieves were last seen in Modesto, selling counterfeit sunglasses out of the trunk of Denny’s car.
