Big Mistakes: Poking The Bear With A Stick
That is exactly what happened on April 3rd, 1982. JimBob Newland and his cousin, Rayford Mullins, were pretty well oiled after a night of drinking, which is why they decided to walk back to JimBob’s place by using Foresthill Road to cut through the woods.
About halfway there, they spotted a large black bear lying under a bush. Being drunk, they wondered if it was dead or asleep. After some debate, they decided to pick up a 12 foot long tree branch and poke the bear. Sadly, they poked the male bear right in the balls, instantly both waking it up and pissing it off.
It was only the luck of a couple of farmers passing by that kept the two cousins from getting killed, but you can bet that “Lefty” Newland and “Gimpy” Mullins will never poke another bear.
