…lots of XP there, my friends
Hells Belles, I haven’t exactly been Posty McPostypants this month, have I? I shall try to get back up to speed. I should have daily posts from Dundracon this weekend. Anyway, on to the reportage about my Sunday.
It was all about the roleplaying, baby. The CoC game was totally fun, with four of us playing investigators working for the mysterious Courtland Institute. Our assignment was to go to Seattle to investigate the abductions of several young women. All of said abductions took place a few days before the full moon and left little solid evidence aside from a (cue dramatic music) Strange Arcane Symbol painted or drawn on a nearby surface.
We (a linguist, a journalist, a medical doctor and a cryptozoologist) did our investigatory thing and figured out that the cheif suspects were a serial killer, a 300+ year old witch and a nasty rat with a human face and hands. After much research, near brushes with insanity, assorted grossness involving dead stuff, more grossness involving UNDEAD stuff and lots of shooting of weaponry, we vanquished all of the baddies and went back to our respective homes with sanity and bodies pretty much intact.
The last 30 minutes or so of the game were played by candlelight with a very atmosphereic soundtrack playing in the background. Totally an excellent game! I always enjoy getting a break from my usual GMing duties.
Ok, so it’s time for work. I hope to get in a Violet post tonight. More bloggage later.
I’m jealous
Candlelight and mood music for the last thirty minutes of the game? You, sir, have a GM who truly cares about his (her?) players. Treasure that GM.
