Facts About Potions: Research
When doing research on old potions from long ago, it is vital that you find recipes from at least three sources for each potion. Take careful note of where and when they were created. Make sure that all of the ingredients match up, if possible. Obviously, if you live in a tropical climate, you won’t have access to Jingaro eggs, but you will have access to Kivi Kivi eggs, which have nearly identical properties. You should consult regional archives of the Potionmaster’s Guild, at the very least. The Grand Archive in Rostantal City would be even better, of course.
When researching a new potion, or an alternative method for creating a known potion, we again urge you to visit your nearest archive. It should also be noted that visiting local alchemists, healers, and mages can be quite useful. Regardless, always do very thorough research before actually beginning to make a new or very old potion formula.
