People Of The Solar System…: Venusians
The steaming hot climate of Venus, as well as the myriad deadly lifeforms living there, has bred a population divided. Most of the Venusians you will meet are tough customers who live and work in the jungles, swamps, and oceans of the planet. The rest of the population are the Highlanders, who live on the high plateaus of the Carson Range, were temperatures seldom get over 90F. They own the only spaceports of any size and supply offworld goods to the Lowlanders. There is little love lost between the two groups.
Although the temperatures and dangers in the Lowlands makes life difficult, this traveler has always found the rough and tumble folk there much preferable to the decadent Highlanders.
