The Long & Winding Road
Part 29
Realm Of The Great Bear
At the point where this 80 mile, southeast to northwest, part of the road starts, travelers will notice that the pine forest they passed through on the Dreaming Road has gotten larger. In fact, the trees are now twice as large, easily the height of our redwoods. The Road here is a smooth and very straight dirt pathway about 15 feet wide.
Although the name implies a single bear, there are nearly three dozen living here. As for the “great” part, they are indeed very large, about twice the size of a polar bear. They very much built like grizzle bears. They are always hungry and cranky.
Travelers will want to pass through this area as quickly as possible, although it will still take a couple of days.
