Lionfolk

Rulers of a kingdom of non-humanoid, semi-sapient animals, these folk are humanoid and sapient. They are also physically powerful, but often lazy. They live in large extended families, with the males nominally in charge, but the elder females pulling all the strings.
The lionfolk may not do much actual work, but their subjects do, so there is usually food, clothing, and other items to trade for. Prices are fair, but expect to haggle, because the female lions love bargaining.
This land is bisected by a river and forests. The lions tend to live on the plains on either side. The Road runs 105 miles and is smooth gravel.
