Big Mistakes: Turning Your Back On Your Lunch
“Dudes! It was SO GREAT! There I am, in the living room, just licking my butt, as one does, when Dad walks in with a big plate full of food. I’m talking one of those 12 inch roast beef subs from Tony’s. Right next to it is a big scoop of potato salad and some chips.
Now I’m not gonna mess with any of that with Dad right there, but then, I got lucky. He had turned on the game and realized he forgot his beer. He gets up and heads for the kitchen and I’m on that plate like hair on a cat. I chomp down the potato salad, then the chips, then grab that sub and I’m out the doggie door and into the yard near Mom.
I had more than half of it eaten when Dad comes roaring outside, yelling my name. Mom looks at me just as I’m wolfing down the last of that delicious meal, then tells Dad maybe next time don’t leave food sitting where the dog can get it.
It was a great day, I tell ya!”
