For a good time, call 1-800-VeggieBoy:)
And lo, today there was much running around and veggie/plant buying. I bought a half dozen Blue Lake green bean plants, about as many tomatoes (Cherokee Purple, Brandywine, Black Krim, a delicious and insanely prolific cherry tomato called Suncherry and a very small variety of tomato called Currant), a single zuchinni (Magda), a sweet pepper (Queen), a medium hot pepper (Fish Pepper) and my favorite cantalope variety (Ambrosia).
I also bought herbs for a “strawberry pot” sort of planting scheme. I got dill, sweet basil, oregano, thyme, sage and tarragon.
For color in the garden (tho I have plenty of color already), I bought some mixed coleus and some red and orange marigolds. I’ve also got a bunch of flower seeds to plane, including some zinnias that should stop traffic with their cool varigations.
And then I came home, did a bit of garden prep and collapsed. And then ate chinese food. And then cooked Roscoe some dog rice with brown gravy and ground beef. And then collapsed again.
Tomorrow, there will come the digging and planting and watering and weeding.
