The Pod People Go To Paris

…see ya later, pod people!

Well, it would seem that I spoke too soon about feeling better, at least gastrointestinally. My stomach was still hurting on Thursday and so i went to urgent care. The doctor there poked and prodded me and asked a bunch of questions. The result? My many years of drinking in excess of a gallon and a half of tea and soda every day, when added to my love of spicy foods, had caused rebellion in my middle aged belly. The doctor laid it out to me that I need to majorly reduce my soda & tea intake. ARRRRGGGHHH!!!

So, here I am, taking a Nexiumlike pill (Aciphex) every morning and drinking no soda at all. Tea? I drink ONE 12 ounce cup in the morning that is (by my previous standards) pretty fuckin’ weak. And I’m laying off the Tabasco sauce and such until my once upon a time cast iron stomach can get back in fighting shape. SIGH!

OH LOOK, A MEME!

A film/video meme…ok, here goes…

1) Total number of films I own on DVD/video:

On DVD: 1 (something Grace bought when we got the DVD player…which is not hooked up yet due to incompatibility with our old cheapass TV.

On VHS tape: Hmmm…maybe 200, mostly stuff Grace taped years ago before I met her.

2) Last film bought: Whatever that DVD is that Grace bought. Haven’t bought a VHS tape in many years

3) Last film that I watched: Robots, in the theater

4) Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me, in no particular order:

King Kong (1933 version) Because it it just so damn good.

Jurassic Park Because it has DINOSAURS!

Raiders of the Lost Ark Because it made me feel like a kid again, watching old serials on Saturday morning tv.

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Hey, it’s all one big story) Because it is just so fucking cool and I get lost in it.

El Dorado Duke Wayne…Robert Mitchum…James Caan…western…’nuff said.

5) Pick on five people. Tag five people and have them put this on their journal.

No, I don’t think I will
