Sister Bomia’s Adventure Diary #27
Elves Of A Different Color
Ottersday 2, Sun God Month, Year 25 of the Golden Emperor
Dear Diary,
Since I last wrote, much has happened. About 30 minutes after I finished writing, we came to a section of the Road that was clearly visible. We turned left on it and were once again heading east.
The trees here are mostly enormous oaks, with a few smaller understory trees. While there is an abundance of wildlife, there are few, if any monsters. We all find this most relaxing.
We were a bit over an hour into our eastward ride when all of us got the feeling that we were being watched. Since we had been told about the elves and we seemed to be in no danger, we just kept riding. An hour later, we came to a large clearing, with an Elven village in it’s center.
As we stopped to look across the clearing, we found ourselves quickly surrounded by 30 elves that had been hiding in the forest. And hiding very well, I might add, if Amella didn’t spot them.
The elves of this land that we saw back in Arjoon had very red skin, but these elves had skin in several shades if green, brown and gray. No wonder they could hide so easily. They were all of an average height around six feet, and their hair, which they wore long, matched their skin. The group was pretty equally male and female.
Their leader was a fellow named Trem, and I thought he looked like a wizard of some sort. Olivia later confirmed that. Trem asked us our business in their land, so we told him about the Great Road and our mission. He found that interesting, as his people have many legends about the Road. After having us promise that we would abide by their laws, 10 of the elves escorted us to the village, which is called Rainflower.
The elves inside the village had even more skin colors. There were orange, yellow, blue, red, and even purple elves. Their eye color always matched their skin. They were a very friendly lot, and the children were very curious about us.
The village itself was a set of concentric circles, with the Road running right through the center. The buildings were mostly two story and built from beautifully carved oak logs. The lags were carved to fit in very tightly with one another. Grettin said that it was some of the finest construction she had ever seen.
We spent all day and half the night eating and talking with these Rainbow Elves, as they are called. They found our descriptions of people, places, and things back home to be fascinating. They told us we could stay as long as we liked. We all agreed that another day here would not be a bad idea.
And now, Diary, I need some sleep. I’ll write more tomorrow.
