…’neath the pale moonlight.
Stuff I’ve been thinking about
1: At some point within the last 10-15 years, I lost my fear of death. Not that I have a reckless disregard for my own safety, but I no longer fear the inevitable. In fact, I kind of find the fear of that most certain of inevitabilities to be rather…pointless. I understand why people fear death, but since we all die, fearing it doesn’t make much sense. Unless, of course, your mind has been all screwed up by the whole religion thing or you just fear the unknown/unknowable.
2: I’ve been wondering why there has never been an instance of somebody trying to actually be a masked crimefighter. I mean, sure, they’d have to be a wackjob, but there are a helluva lot of wackjob superhero fans out there and at least a few of them are in good shape and/or have access to some pretty spiffy modern technology. You’d think that at least one of them would try going the Shadow/Batman route.
3: Sorta kinda in the superhero vein of the above paragraph, have you ever wondered if the next race of humans are living among us? I mean, evolution doesn’t stop, so there might well be some new more adaptable hominids popping up somewhere. Not X Menlike mutants, but people who are just better suited to life on Earth as it is now. Or maybe the various governments find them and kill/imprison them.
Ok, enough of this blathering. I’m off to bed.
