A Large Bag Full Of Toad Sausage

…mmmmm, gotta love freshly ground toads

All Gaming Stuff Edition

1: As has been reported on dozens of other venues, Erick Wujcik has passed away after his long bout with cancer. I believe I first met Erick when my pal, Spike, introduced us at GenCon in 1990. We chatted a bit then, and a couple of other times at early 90’s GenCons. He was a nice guy and his Amber Diceless Roleplaying game had a huge effect on the gaming industry. Once again this year, the hobby has lost a major talent.

2: Yesterday, while awaiting a phone call that never came, I sorted my voluminous collection of Alarums & Excursions gaming APA’s. I sorted them numerically and found that I have a pretty darned good collection. I’m missing a big chunk between A&E 109 and 150, but from 155 on, I have ’em all. I also have a near complete set from #21 to #90. Additionally, I have a pretty big stack of extra issues, many in very great shape. This is no small thing, as the bigass 160 page issues from A&E’s heyday where stapled together with a stapler better geared to 150 pages. Missing rear covers/pages are quite common. I plan on selling or trading these extra issues, as well as printing my wants list, in an upcoming LJ post.

3: Besides A&E’s, I also found several copies of Lords of Chaos, a couple of copies of APA-NYU, a copy each of The Wild Hunt and All Of The Above and two copies of Xenofilkia. All those will also be offered up for sale.

4: My primary gaming group is tentatively scheduled to have a session on the 22nd. We will continue the “Modern Weird Shit” series, which is nearing the halfway point. After that, it will probably be board and card games for a couple of sessions before we plunge headlong into the “Returning Magic” series this fall/winter.

And now, I need to go divide daylilies while temperatures are still below 90.
