Allies, Impostors & Renfields
One of the things I get asked is how we Non-Humans manage to interact with human society beyond just “playing dumb”. Well, the answer to that is complicated.
There are three main ways we interact with you folks, and one of those ways is broken down even further.
First off are Allies. They are humans that live with NHT and know about them. My mom & dad are perfect examples of this. Actually, they are probably the ultimate example of it. There are a whole lot of allies out there, and they are all great humans.
Deciding to come out to a human or humans is a huge step for us. Fortunately, we dogs & cats can read y’all like books, so we are seldom mistaken about your trustworthiness and ability to keep a secret.
Allies help us do what we need to, from as simply as just giving us a place to live to letting us go out at night to hang with other NHT. We love our allies and more than a few NHT have died to protect them.
The next, and most recent, way we interact with your world is by becoming Impostors. Simply put, they are NHT who permanently or occasionally upload into either an android body or, in recent years, an actual created for the purpose human body. I’ll note that NHT that go the permanent impostor route are very highly respected for making that sacrifice.
Impostors often hold very high positions in human owned companies, the military and governments. Some of the companies with Impostors running them are secretly owned by the NHTA, while others are human owned. Military impostors are mostly there to keep an eye on things, same as the government impostors.
Most NHTA owned corporations have a large number of Allies working in them. They also have a fair number of our third example, Renfields.
The concept of Renfields is actually very old. At least 1,500 years ago, individual NHT were revealing themselves to mentally unbalanced humans in order to get them to do their bidding. Often, the NHT would say that they were either Satan or God in the form of an animal. Due to the very strong hold that religion had on humans back then, the renfields would almost immediately fall down and grovel. After that, the NHT in charge would have them do whatever they wanted.
The modern version of renfields was created in 1978 when 7 allies volunteered to work for us full time. The humans chose the name “renfields”, by the way. As of 2020, I’d say about 40% of our renfields are volunteer allies. Of the rest, about 20% are still folks with mental problems that we guide and keep safe by giving them something to do. We only use such folks for a few years before we cure them, if that’s possible.
Another 30% of our renfields are pretty much raised from birth to help us. They are children of allies or even children of impostors. They are our best agents by far, except for the very newest renfields, androids.
Yes, folks, I’m talking artificial life forms in the Commander Data mold. There are several hundred out there, generally in Third World countries. That are 100% trustworthy and we use them in all walks of human life. The plan is to phase out the mentally ill type of renfield in favor of androids.
So now you know how we manage things with your world, humans. At some point, I’ll describe how we manage our world.
