Sister Bomia’s Adventure Diary #31

We Arrive At The Ocean, But What’s Next?

Rabbitsday 3, Sun God Month, Year 25 of the Golden Emperor

Dear Diary,

Well, Diary, in a few minutes I’ll be sending you back home via the portal that was meant to take us all home. We have decided not to go just yet.

We arrived at the beach about two hours ago. The Great Eastern Ocean is a somewhat darker looking and rougher body of water than the Great Western Ocean is, but it is beautiful nonetheless. There were many seabirds about, since we are in the last days of summer. Most of them will be heading south to wherever they winter over.

After we got here, Amella produced a bottle of Dinsarin brandy and we all had a drink after a toast to our successful trip across the continent. We talked for a while about what we had seen and done, then the topic turned to going home. Not surprisingly, none of us wanted to.

So, we began a discussion as to exactly where we should travel to next. We considered going north, south, west by southwest, west by northwest…we even considered, very briefly, buying a ship and setting out to sea. That last was quickly killed by Grettin and I, who do not at all do well on ships at sea.

In the end, I said a quick Prayer for Guidance and awaited some indication as to where to go. It came quickly when I remembered three lines from an ancient poem.

Take to the road.
To the North, there lie the chills of cold
To the South, there lie the tales untold

Since tales untold (and warmer weather) always win out over chills of cold, we chose to ride along the coast and see what we encounter. Olivia expects that the Council of Sages will be quite eager to continue paying us to explore and send them more samples and items.

And so, Diary, you have done your job and must now go and be read and re-read by sages. A new diary will take your place and get filled with my thoughts and reportage of this next journey.

Goodbye and blessings to all who read you.
