The Price of Gasoline: It’s about $3.80 here for the cheap stuff. How much longer until the sheeplike masses get upset enough to demand something be done? I’m saying November, when they vote Republicans out of office in huge numbers. If the Democrats are smart (not at all a safe bet), they will slap caps on gas prices about 5 minutes after the new president is sworn in.

$3.80 a gallon? I never understand how USAns get so upset about gas prices compared to Ireland or the UK. Petrol is about 1.22 euro/litre here at the moment, or $8.64 a gallon.
But you get your high prices honestly, via taxes. Instead of money grubbing nanny state politicians we have to deal with money grubbing suffer and die already industrialists.
Price caps? Doc, when have price caps ever worked. To keep prices low you need to keep supply high. Rebuild and expand refinery, pipeline, and storage capacity and you’ll see price per gallon go down. But, no matter how well you build and how carefully you monitor for spills etc. you’re still going to get more pollution. Cheap gas or a cleaner environment, your choice.
