Strange Shops: Broadfoot’s

“I tell you, Felicity, that Riyo Broadfoot is an odd one. Oh yes, Broadfoot’s is a fine general merchandise store, and I do shop there, that Riyo is up to something. Did you know that in his youth he went on several adventures with his uncle, Donderol Brimmins, and that friend of his, Carl Hammerhand? Just up and took off with a respected furniture maker and a Dwarven carpenter for who knows where to do who knows what. Scandalous!
And then there’s the fact that his store stocks things no self respecting halfling would buy. Daggers and backpacks and hiking poles and crossbows and, even, I’m told maps and magical things. Then young halflings and dwarves and elves and even humans come and buy things from him. I’ve even heard he helps fund “expeditions” to far off places. That’s just not right, I tell you.
Did you know he’s living with Marinia Fairlight? Without the benefit of proper marriage? That’s not how it was in our day, right? And she’s almost as odd as he is. They say she dabbles in magic and practices using a sword! Well I never!
I’m certain no good will come of all this adventure nonsense, but yes, let’s do go in and have a look at the sale on collectible tea cozies.
