…and their wands of headbanging
The Doclopedia #3,399
Little Monsters: Land Piranhas
Name: Land Piranhas
Size: Small, 6-10 inches
Environment: Tropical/sub-tropical woodlands and fields
Notes: They can digest almost all flesh and bones.
Although they are uncommon even in their native lands, land piranhas are still very dangerous and should be avoided at all costs.
Resembling tiny sharks with four powerful legs for digging, and a segmented hard shell, these obligate carnivores are always hungry. They travel in groups of from 10 to100, moving through the soil a few inches below the surface at speeds of up to 15 miles an hour. When they sense prey, they burst up out of the ground around it and the biting begins. Their teeth are razor sharp and they can quickly chew through even heavy leather or chainmail armor. Once they reach flesh, it’s all over for the prey. Even if they don’t kill it outright, it will surely bleed out within minutes.
